A report was received from the Department of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yerevan that on September 19, 2023, after the organizers of the meeting held on September 19, 2023, at Republic Square in Yerevan, in front of Government House 1 address, at around 6:00 p.m., after making public calls for mass riots, with their organization, the participants of the gathering approached the entrance of the RA Government building located at Government House 1 and, disobeying the legal demand presented by the police, started mass riots threatening public safety. They were combined with violence against police officers on duty, kicking and punching and throwing various objects at them. This is reported by the Central Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
In connection with the received notification, criminal proceedings were initiated in the primary investigation department of significant cases of the RA Investigative Committee, by Article 327, Part 1 and Article 328, Part 3, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
An investigation is being conducted. The relevant videos obtained and distributed on the Internet are being studied. In order to arrest the organizers and participants of mass riots, measures are being taken to identify and identify them.
