RA Minister of TCE Gnel Sanosyan received the delegation of the Congress of Local and Territorial Authorities of the Council of Europe under the leadership of Carla Dejonghe.
The minister welcomed the guests and highlighted the delegation's presence at the Yerevan Council of Elders elections on Sunday and the observation mission to be carried out by them.
The minister emphasized that too much attention was paid to the elections' preparation, organization, and organization so that everything was in line with the Electoral Code.
Minister Sanosyan assured that during the campaign, all the political forces participating in the election had equal opportunities to present their ideas and pre-election programs to the voters, debates were organized, and awareness campaigns were held. "All this proves that there was a good enough environment for the campaign," the minister emphasized, expressing his belief that the elections will be held in a free, fair, and transparent atmosphere.
The members of the delegation inquired from the minister about the organization of the electoral process, as well as the policy of decentralization implemented as a result of administrative-territorial reforms in the field of local self-government.
