Information is spreading in the press that the Armenian-American metal smelting plant operating in Yeraskh has been moved, and the activities will be expanded elsewhere.
GTB Holding responded to the news about the relocation of the Yeraskh plant. We present the comment below.
- How will you interpret the news about the relocation of the metal smelting plant?
- GTB Holding has repeatedly announced and disseminated information about its already implemented and planned investments and projects. As for the construction of the metal smelter, as has already been mentioned several times, the assets will be implemented in stages, considering the gradual increase in production volumes and the possible range diversity based on market requirements. Nothing has been moved, suspended, or stopped. Yeraskh will have its continuation. As planned, it is just one of the stages of the production process. Which phase? Let me not elaborate at this time. Everything will be announced in due time.
- But do you carry out construction in other places?
- Yes, of course, we implement it. Although our plans have fallen behind schedule, they are being fully implemented as far as our existing capacities allow. The implementation of work in different stages and programs depends on several circumstances, among which we would single out the time factor and the schedule of the arrival of the relevant equipment. The company makes decisions about the work carried out in this or that place, mainly considering these problems.
- In other words, Yeraskh has been noticed?
- No, and not again. Moreover, the company continues and is committed to implementing support programs for the border settlements, particularly the Yeraskh community.
