RA Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan received on September 4 the delegation led by the first vice president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Jurgen Rigterink. EBRD Eastern Europe and Caucasus Managing Director Matteo Patrone, EBRD Caucasus Regional Director Alkis Drakinos, EBRD Uzbekistan Office Head Catarina Hansen, and EBRD Armenia Office Head Georgi Akhalkatsi were also present at the meeting.
Minister Hovhannisyan, welcoming the guests, noted that cooperation with the EBRD is crucial for Armenia. The minister specifically emphasized the critical role of the EBRD in the modernization of RA infrastructure. The minister also highlighted the issues related to implementing existing programs, stressing the need for timely and proper performance.
The EBRD Vice President also referred to the current programs, agreeing with the need to implement them within the specified time frame. The parties also referred to the EBRD annual meeting to be held in Yerevan next year, emphasizing the proper provision of preparations for the event. Minister Hovhannisyan stressed that the Armenian side will try to keep this unprecedented event at a high level.
Both sides are willing to join efforts in all directions of cooperation to achieve the desired results.
