Human rights defender Anahit Manasyan presented to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to the Republic of Armenia, Mariano Vergara, the issues related to the violations of fundamental human rights as a result of the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the Defender noted that as a result of the illegal actions of Azerbaijan, the fundamental rights and freedoms of the people of Artsakh are being violated, such as the rights to life, security, free movement, food, mental and physical health, sufficient living standards, education, as well as the dignity of the residents as an inseparable basis of human rights and freedoms.

In the framework of the meeting, Anahit Manasyan expressly referred to the problems of human rights protection caused by the border security of the Republic of Armenia, the results of the fact-finding work carried out in Syunik, Gegharkunik marzes, Yeraskh community, noting that the situation of human rights protection in the border settlements as a result of Azerbaijani aggression is very worrying.

Ambassador Mariano Vergara, in his turn, emphasized that he is also following the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh and noted that the Armenian community of Argentina is constantly raising its concerns about the problem. The ambassador also highly appreciated the work carried out by Anahit Manasyan in the field of human rights protection, expressing his willingness to continue effective and constructive cooperation.
