On August 23, Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia Vahe Ghazaryan received the delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Armenia Fukushima Masanori. The Director of the Rescue Service attended the meeting. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan and the regional head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Hiroyuki Mori, participated in the discussion.
The minister welcomed the attendees and appreciated the practical cooperation with the Japanese partners. He especially singled out the support the Japan International Cooperation Agency provided to the Rescue Service over the years and thanked him.
Vahe Ghazaryan also noted the involvement of the Armenian police in the programs implemented by the agency, particularly emphasizing the training organized in Japan this year in combating cybercrime.
Expressing gratitude to Fukushima Masanori for the warm reception, he noted that Armenia is an essential partner for Japan and that the Japanese side is ready to continue close cooperation.
Hiroyuki Mori, in his turn, emphasizing the strong partnership formed, spoke about the programs implemented by the agency in training rescuers and police officers, disaster risk management, and other areas of the rescue service.
The meeting also discussed other issues related to the Ministry of Internal Affairs formation, service reforms, and further cooperation.
