Today, Nune Bakunts, the deputy general director of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, referred to the steps to be taken in conditions of high air temperature.
He says the body dehydrates in the heat, losing salts and proteins. Therefore, you should drink at least 2.5-3 liters of water in the coming days. Bakunts emphasized that we are talking about non-carbonated water.
"Among other drinks, we recommend using our traditional buttermilk because it almost perfectly replenishes the body's loss of fluid, protein, and salts.
We suggest reducing caffeine-containing drinks as much as possible because despite having a short-term refreshing effect, they still exhaust the body, and sugar-containing beverages make dehydration worse, he said.
According to Bakunts, those with cardiovascular diseases and pregnant women should also increase the amount of water after consulting a doctor. And people with permanent medical care, those who take medicine every day, should not violate taking the prescribed medication, and in case of violations, should not engage in self-medication.
Nune Bakunts also urged not to stay inside cars while waiting outside during hot hours and not to leave children in vehicles.
