Today, on July 28, representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in Armenia visited the Kornidzor settlement of the Syunik region, the starting point of the Lachin Corridor, where trucks carrying humanitarian aid have been standing still for several days.
They were accompanied by RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan and representatives of the Office of the Human Rights Defender Nina Pirumyan, Secretary General of the HRD Office, and Anna Karapetyan, Head of the Department of International Cooperation. They toured the area and monitored the border from afar.
The Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Health, Labor, and Social Affairs, Governor of Syunik Robert Ghukasyan, and HRD staff provided general information on the situation to the representatives of accredited diplomatic representations and international structures in Armenia.
Anna Karapetyan presented the ongoing fact-finding activities carried out by the Defender regarding the issue. In addition, the HRD representative noted that the received information is regularly transferred to international organizations with a mandate to protect human rights, urging them to make the necessary efforts to remove the blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
