On July 28, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan handed over a copy of his credentials to the newly appointed Ambassador of France to RA, Olivier Decottignies.
Minister Mirzoyan congratulated the newly appointed ambassador on assuming the responsible position and expressed his confidence that during his mission, Ambassador Olivier Dkotinyi will make maximum efforts towards further developing relations between the two countries in accordance with their current privileged nature.
The ambassador thanked the minister for the warm reception, expressing his willingness to contribute to expanding friendship and relations based on shared interests between the two peoples through his active activities.
The high level of political dialogue between Armenia and France, active mutual visits, and periodic contacts in high formats, which contribute to finding new interaction edges in the current challenging situation, were emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the programs of the Armenian-French bilateral agenda, including "Armenian-French Economic Cooperation 2021-2026". Implementing the "road map," the expansion of cooperation with the French Development Agency, as well as in the fields of culture and education.
Regional and international security issues were discussed. Ararat Mirzoyan presented to the newly appointed ambassador the daily worsening humanitarian situation in Nagorno Karabakh due to Azerbaijan's illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor. Emphasizing the precise assessments made regarding lifting this blockade, the minister noted the need to use the existing mechanisms in that direction effectively.
Referring to the vision of the Armenian side regarding peace and stability in the region, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of straightforward steps and the continuous involvement of the actors interested in this issue.
