"We are very interested in the economic model of Armenia;" Ku Dongyu

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, who is in Italy on a working visit, met with the General Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Qu Dongyu, within the framework of the UN Food Systems Summit.

Qu Dongyu, welcoming President Khachaturian, noted that he is very happy for the opportunity to meet the President of Armenia and discuss issues aimed at practical cooperation.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan, welcoming the Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, highlighted the importance of cooperation between Armenia and the United Nations, particularly the Food and Agriculture Organization. In his speech, the President of the Republic stated:

"I am happy for the opportunity to meet you and have a direct discussion on topics of mutual interest. In recent years, significant reforms have been made in the economy of Armenia, which are mainly the result of the current government's policies and the implementation of democratic reforms. As a result of all that, our economy has become more attractive for investments, and we will continue to move in that direction.

The government of Armenia recently approved the food security strategy, which we are guided by. Armenia pays special attention to introducing and applying digital and high-tech innovations in agriculture. From this point of view, we also hope to implement big strategic plans with you."

Qu Dongyu noted in his speech that he is very interested in Armenia, the economic model of Armenia, and will willingly make efforts to create platforms to promote Armenian products. The General Director emphasized that he attaches great importance to the presence of an attractive investment environment and the use of high technologies. Qu Dongyu stressed that the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations creates conditions and a suitable environment for investment and economic development, thereby providing its support.

At the end of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of expanding the scope of cooperation.
