Yerevan Council of Elders elections will take place on September 17. the draft decision is included in the agenda of today's session of the RA government.
According to the reasons for the decision, "The last elections of the Yerevan Council of Elders took place on September 23, 2018. The council took office on October 10, 2018. His term of office expires on October 10, 2023.
According to part 1 of Article 127 of the "Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia" constitutional law, "Regular elections of the Yerevan Council of Elders shall be held no earlier than 30 and no later than 20 days before the end of the powers of the Council of Elders." According to the above settlement, the election should be scheduled for September 17 (the only Sunday in the interval)."
