RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at the government session that works are being carried out to ensure the passability of the 7.9 km section of the Noravan-Orotan-Shamb highway in the Syunik region and to improve the parameters of curves.
According to him, this is a program of strategic importance, "A new highway from the regional center of Syunik to Yerevan is being built, which has already reached the final stage, and we will finish it this year, don't you? You remember that after the famous events, the road leading to the border of the Islamic Republic of Iran was passing. Through the bends of Tatev, which was a difficult road, but, at the same time, that road served in full, in fact, during this period. We also ensured the functionality of that road because the Tatev-Aghvan road section was planned. Of course, due to the circumstances, we sped up while quality problems arose, but we overcame it."
The Prime Minister noted that later it was decided to build the second road: Tatev-Ltsen, Ltsen-Shamb, and Noravan-Orotan-Shamb.
MTAI Minister Gnel Sanosyan also gave details about the construction of the Tatev-Ltsen road, saying that it has been completed. "Everything is OK: This is a functioning road; we are already improving it, making major repairs."
"It significantly shortens the road from Kapan and Meghri to Yerevan, and we will already have two alternative roads," Nikol Pashinyan responded.
