On June 27, RA Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan received the delegation led by Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle and the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Victorin.
The meeting was attended by Sebastien Moras, Chief of Staff of the Executive Director of Europol; Tamara Schotte, Head of the Analysis and Strategic Coordination Department; Ilya Pulov, Senior Advisor of the Staff; Tigran Balayan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
In the administrative complex of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Minister of Internal Affairs and heads of delegations, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, members of the board laid a wreath and bowed flowers at the memorial wall commemorating the police officers who died while protecting the borders and performing official duties.
Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan highly appreciated the cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Europol, which is one of the priorities of the police reform strategy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Speaking about the ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vahe Ghazaryan emphasized the role of international partners in that process.
Executive Director of Europol, Catherine De Bolle, thanked for the warm welcome and congratulated Vahe Ghazaryan on his appointment as the Minister of Internal Affairs.
Catherine De Bolle highly appreciated the practical cooperation, highlighting the joint activities in the fight against transnational crime.
Welcoming the reforms implemented in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, she expressed her readiness to support that process.
She also spoke about adequate support to EU member states in the fight against serious and organized crime and terrorism.
In her speech, the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Victorin, referred to the law enforcement agency's effective and continuous cooperation.
Other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
