Suren Papikyan received the Governor of Kansas and the Adjutant General, National Guard Commander
On June 23, RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan received Laura Kelly, Governor of Kansas, USA, and Adjutant General, National Guard Commander, Brigadier General Michael Venerdi, who arrived in Armenia within the framework of events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Armenia-Kansas partnership.
US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the current course of cooperation between the RA Ministry of Defense and the Kansas National Guard was discussed.
They've referred to the implementation of agreements reached on new directions of cooperation during the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia's visit to Kansas in September last year.
During the meeting, the progress of planned cooperation in areas of mutual interest (professional sergeant system, peacekeeping, military medicine, cyber security, exchange of experience in social security related to service members and their families, etc.) was recorded.
An agreement was reached to continue cooperation, as well as to initiate new directions of cooperation.
