The epidemic situation in the world in terms of measles is tense

The RA Ministry of Health informs that the epidemic situation in the world in terms of measles is tense.

"Statistics document that the number of measles cases in the world increased by about 80% in 2022 compared to 2021. the trend continues today. Cases of measles are reported in almost all countries of the world. The epidemic situation is also troubled in the WHO European region.

In Armenia, the epidemic situation in terms of measles is also unfavorable. From March 3 until now, 209 laboratory-confirmed cases of measles have been registered,, 8 of which are RA citizens who have returned from a trip in the last few days and who fell ill during the trip.
The measles epidemic situation may be aggravated given the current tourism activity.

Before going on vacation, everyone who is not vaccinated or incompletely vaccinated against measles, and who has not been ill before, is recommended to get vaccinated against measles at least 10 days before departure.

We remind you that the only safe and effective way to prevent measles is vaccination. All medical care and service organizations in Armenia are provided with combined vaccines against measles, rubella, and mumps. "Any person who has not received the vaccinations against measles can apply to a polyclinic/outpatient clinic and get vaccinated," the ministry said in a statement.
