On May 17, 2023, at around 4:15 p.m., the servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the intention of unlawfully depriving the lives of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who were performing their service duty, with the motive of hatred, intolerance or enmity due to racial, national, ethnic origin, shooting from firearms. were fired in the direction of the combat position of the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense located in the eastern direction of the RA border. As a result, a conscript soldier of the same military unit was injured and later died.

The Azerbaijani armed forces also fired targeted rounds at the "UAZ" vehicle that went to the same combat position to provide medical aid to the wounded serviceman, as a result of which the medic of the same military unit was injured in the wrist region. His condition is assessed as satisfactory.

Based on the report received about the case, criminal proceedings were initiated in the Fifth Garrison Investigation Department of the Main Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, in accordance with Article 155, Part 2, Clauses 1 and 15, Article 44-155, 2- of the RA Criminal Code. with clauses 1, 7 and 15 of part 2 and clauses 3 and 4 of part 2 of article 264.

Urgent and necessary evidentiary and procedural actions are being carried out in order to find out the circumstances of the incident, to give full legal assessments to the criminal actions of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
