On May 12, 2023, around 10:00 a.m., the service members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan unlawfully deprived the lives of the service members of the N military unit of the RA Defense Force, who were performing their service duty, with the motive of hatred, intolerance or hostility due to racial, national, ethnic origin, applied are combat UAV, the impact of which injured two service members of the same military unit to varying degrees.

On the same day, the latters were transferred to the Gegharkunik Garrison Military Hospital; the condition of one of them is assessed as satisfactory, the condition of the other as serious.

Based on the report received regarding the incident, criminal proceedings were initiated in the Fifth Garrison Investigation Department of the Military Investigation General Department of the RA Investigative Committee by Article 44-155, Part 2, Clauses 1, 7, and 15 of the RA Criminal Code / Episode 2 / (the attempt to deprive another person of life illegally, which was committed by a person or his close relative or relative, in connection with the performance of his state, political, service, professional or public activity or duty by that person, in a manner dangerous to the lives of other persons, racial, national, motivated by hatred, intolerance or hostility due to ethnic or social origin, religion, political or different views or other circumstances of a personal or social nature).

The investigative team went to the scene immediately. Urgent evidentiary and procedural actions are being carried out in order to find out the circumstances of the incident, to give legal assessments to the criminal actions of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
