An up-to-date system for issuing biometric passports and identification cards will be introduced

The Ministry of Home Affairs has initiated an initial communication process with the market for the issuance of Biometric Passports and ID Cards.

The project's primary goal is to contribute to the digital transformation of Armenia and provide high-quality public services to the population.

It is expected:

- Introduce new world-class standards of citizen experience and service quality, including reduction of waiting time, travel and identification document issuance periods, formation of new customer service standards in service centers, and modernization of the physical conditions of centers in line with the best international standards.

- Increase the applicability and applicability of obtaining travel and identification documents equivalent to secure and global standards, contributing to the development of the digital society in Armenia, including the increase in the use of e-services and other opportunities for automation.

- Replace outdated IT infrastructure to improve the security, efficiency, and operational risk management of processes related to existing solutions and adopt innovative solutions, continuously harmonizing them with the best international standards.

A conference will be held on April 17, 2023, at which the program will be presented to pre-registered potential service providers, and there will be a question-and-answer session.
