The Holy Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the feast of the Annunciation of St. Mary. Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II declared that day a blessing for mothers and women awaiting the joy of motherhood. On April 7, Holy Liturgy is offered in all churches, and the order of blessing women waiting for the fun of motherhood is performed.
According to the Gospels, on this day, the Archangel Gabriel was sent by God to the city of Nazareth in Galilee to a girl named Mary and announced that she would be the mother of the Savior whom all the people were waiting for. “He will be great and called the son of the Highest. And his kingdom will have no end," said the archangel about the child. This news surprised Mariam, but she accepted the information with humility, "I remain the Lord's handmaiden..." he said.
