A Committee on Higher Education and Science will be established

The RA government approved the draft amendments to the laws "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities" and "On Higher and Post-Graduate Professional Education."

According to Minister of Education and Culture Zhanna Andreasyan, adopting the projects will make it possible to align the legal acts regulating the fields with the current state of higher education and science development and international standards, contributing to the progress and dynamic development of these fields.

In particular, among other changes, it is proposed to form a Higher Education and Science Committee, to which the functions of the Higher Qualification Committee will be transferred. Also, the forms of providing scientific grants are defined.

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also emphasized the compliance of physical infrastructures and the content sector with modern standards, "We recorded the following. Unfortunately, we did not notice how the university system continuously isolates itself from the research component. Unfortunately, we have situations when in RA, the applicant was admitted to a university, graduated from it, received a diploma, and still has no subject related to his profession. And these situations are getting bigger."
