MHTI Minister referred to the "Engineering City" project at the meeting with the US Ambassador

On March 28, RA Minister of High-tech Industry Robert Khachatryan received the delegation led by the newly appointed Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Armenia, Kristina Kvien.

Welcoming the guests, the minister congratulated the ambassador on assuming the post and expressed confidence that the existing cooperation between the two countries would be effective and continuous. Robert Khachatryan presented the works and programs carried out by the Ministry, referred to as the "Engineering City" project, the National Venture Fund, the development of the startup ecosystem, the works carried out in space activities, and digitization.

Ambassador Kristina Kvien thanked me for the reception and good wishes. She noted that she would do her best to promote the development of the relations between the two countries in the technological field. The ambassador referred to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Amazon Web Service (AWS) and the Memorandum of Cooperation signed with SADA within the framework of the "DigiTech-2022" technology conference and expressed his belief that the signing of the memorandums will serve as a basis for closer and more effective cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of promoting interaction in space technologies, startup ecosystem development, 5G network, growth of business capabilities of sectorial companies, and implementation of educational and scientific research programs.

Reference was also made to the role of USAID and the Armenian Diaspora in the USA in the high-tech industry. The expansion of cooperation in areas of mutual interest was emphasized.

The parties expressed their willingness to make all efforts to realize the potential of bilateral cooperation fully and emphasized the importance of mutual visits in deepening relations.
