On February 13, 2023, the Counselor of the General Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Aleppo, Consul Babken Badalyan, Colonel Armen Gevorgyan, the head of the international rescue team of the Republic of Armenia that arrived in Aleppo, and Colonel Sergey Bidzian, the commander of the search and rescue group, met with the Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diyab.
B. Badalyan expressed his deep condolences to the innocent victims of the earthquake recorded in Aleppo and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.
B. Badalyan mentioned that Syria is perceived as a friendly country in Armenia, and Armenia is ready to provide necessary assistance in such situations.
Then, Colonel Armen Gevorgyan of the rescue group presented a summary of the work done in the past days and expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Aleppo Governorate.
H. Diyab addressed the Armenian rescuers with a letter of thanks from the Aleppo Governorate.
The governor of Aleppo, H.Diyab, and the advisor of the RA Council of Ministers, Consul B.Badalyan, exchanged opinions on the multifaceted Armenian-Syrian relations.
