1 million US dollars will be provided for prevention and early detection of non-communicable diseases

Another decision approved the proposal of the Republic of Armenia and the Eurasian Development Bank to sign an agreement on the provision of a grant from the funds of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development for the financing of the project "Improving the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases in the primary health care sector."

The program aims to improve the prevention, early detection, and management of non-communicable diseases at the level of primary care organizations. Within the scope of the grant program regarding the provision of 1 million US dollars, it was planned to carry out free breast mammographic screening examinations in the border regions of Tavush, Syunik, and Lori of RA. The program started on January 19, 2021, in the Lori region, then the mobile mammograph was installed in the Tavush region, and currently, the program continues in the Syunk region.

Since its inception, 16,457 mammograms have been performed through December 1, 2022.
