Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Armenia Patrick Svensson. The minister thanked the ambassador for multi-sectoral cooperation.
Grigor Minasyan presented the vision of the upcoming reforms and the works implemented in that direction. He noted that currently, the Ministry of Justice is undergoing large-scale reforms, and the opening of a new arbitration center is planned shortly.
The minister referred to the process of constitutional reforms, the development of institutional capacities in the fight against corruption, the active involvement of public organizations in sectoral reforms, the newly formed Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the legislative reforms regulating the activities of the Academy of Justice.
In the context of the cooperation with Sweden, the minister particularly emphasized the projects implemented and planned shortly in collaboration with the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and the Ministry of Justice in the field of human rights protection and also highly appreciated the projects implemented with the financial support of the Swedish Development Agency for the training employees of the penitentiary system.
