Zhanna Andreasyan drew the attention of the Italian ambassador to the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh

RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan received the delegation headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to RA Alfonso Di Rizzo. Ambassador Alfonso Di Rizzo informed the Minister of ESCS Zhanna Andreasyan that the delegation led by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Italy, Gennaro Sangiuliano, would visit Armenia shortly.

The parties discussed various issues regarding the purpose and agenda of the Italian Minister of Culture's visit. Zhanna Andreasyan, highlighting the joint programs and exchanges of experience in the fields of education, science, culture, sports, and youth, noted that they create new opportunities to expand practical cooperation.

During the meeting, the joint programs to be implemented in the field of culture, their formats, and the schedule were mainly discussed and specified. The Ambassador of Italy to Armenia, in turn, noted that cooperation between the two countries begins with cultural relations. Armenia's alliance with Italy is more active in the cultural sphere.

The minister of CSMS also emphasized the importance of inter-university cooperation, especially from the point of view of the transfer of Italian experience. The parties have expressed readiness to develop close cooperation in preserving cultural heritage and restoring works of art. Zhanna Andreasyan drew the ambassador's attention to the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh and expressed hope that the international structures will take appropriate actions and steps to resolve the problem.

Other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed during the meeting. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia Alfonso Di Rizzo thanked me for the exciting and productive discussion. During the meeting, he handed over to the Armenian side books translated into Armenian by the embassy about Italian art, culture, and literature.
