On January 26, 2023, the "Strengthening Armenia's Energy Security" program was launched. Babken Tunyan, deputy chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly, and Tsovinar Vardanyan, a member of the Committee, took part.
With funding from the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland's Conflict, Stability and Security Fund, WFD has launched a new initiative aimed at improving the engagement of democratic actors in energy policy in Armenia, with a particular focus on enhancing energy security through investment in renewable energy.
The project aims to increase the involvement of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and political parties in the issues of climate change and energy policy. It will improve accountability, empower voters to influence processes, ensure that the needs and interests of women and other underrepresented groups are considered, and lead to broader political consensus.
