The Netherlands supports the rule of law in Armenia

RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Armenia, Nicholas Schermers, and discussed a range of issues of mutual interest with the ambassador.

The Prosecutor General of Armenia expressed her gratitude for the legal assistance and practical cooperation in the fight against organized crime and crimes of an international nature, stressing with confidence that the collaboration will be continuous and give a new quality to Armenian-Dutch relations.

During the meeting, Anna Vardapetyan referred to the priorities of the Prosecutor's Office reforms. Among them, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia singled out the works in the direction of creating an electronic system for accounting and keeping statistics of prosecutors' workload, improving the legal education of prosecutors, organizing training related to prosecutors' external communication, and in that context discussed with the ambassador the possibilities and perspectives of cooperation in the mentioned fields.

Ambassador Schermers emphasized that the Kingdom of the Netherlands supports the rule of law, the protection of democracy, and human rights in Armenia and, in that context, emphasized the role and importance of the Prosecutor's Office. The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Armenia expressed his readiness to talk about the possibilities of cooperation at the directions of the Prosecutor General of Armenia.
