Minister of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan received the delegation led by Berenice Juarez Navarrete, the president of the Mexico-Armenia friendship group of the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico. Artur Martirosyan, the Deputy Minister of CGMS, and RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States of Mexico N.G. Armella Shakaryan attended the meeting.

The parties discussed the importance of promoting cooperation in education, science, culture, and sports and exchanging experiences in different directions.

CGMS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, highlighting the strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries, noted that in September of last year, the delegation of the CGMS Ministry participated in the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development held in Mexico City and returned with positive impressions and great expectations for cooperation.

Minister Zhanna Andreasyan noted that the practical program "On cultural cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Culture of the United States of Mexico for 2023-2026" has been developed and is currently in the stage of internal mutual agreement, which will provide an opportunity to carry out joint works and a series of events.

Berenice Juarez Navarrete, the president of the Mexico-Armenia friendship group of the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico, in turn, thanked for the warm welcome and hospitality, stressing that 2023 marks the 31st anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations between Armenia and Mexico, so the development of interaction, especially in culture and in the fields of education.

The Mexican side also noted that it is particularly impressed by the activities of the "Tumo" creative technology center in Armenia, which can be considered an excellent example of the educational systems of all countries.

"We will try to localize it in Mexico as well," said the chairman of the Mexico-Armenia friendship group.

During the meeting, Zhanna Andreasyan also spoke about the humanitarian crisis created as a result of the blockade of Nagorno Karabakh and the problems of violation of the right to education, which left an irreversible impact on human rights. The minister also referred to the issue of preserving the Armenian cultural heritage of Nagorno Karabakh, currently under the control of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, several other issues related to implementing educational and cultural events, development of cultural tourism, joint work programs, exchange of experience, and activation of communication were also discussed.
