The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates Christmas. Christmas is also called Epiphany; that is, with the birth of Christ, God appeared to the world.
According to the sacred tradition of the church, Christ was baptized in the Jordan River on his birthday after 30 years. And so, January 6 is also the day of Christ's baptism.
God became man and appeared to men. During Christ's baptism, God the Father testifies, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matt. 3:17, Mark 1:11, Luke 3:22), and the Holy Spirit descends on Christ as a dove. A second epiphany takes place.
In the Armenian Church, Christmas and Epiphany are the first holidays of the calendar year.
On the occasion of Christ's Christmas and Epiphany, people announce to each other: "Christ was born and revealed," to which the reply is "Blessed is the revelation of Christ."
