From the unprecedented devaluation of the dollar and the euro to high economic growth rates

In 2022, quite remarkable events took place in the field of economy.

The indicator of economic activity in January-November was 14.4%, mainly due to the growth of trade and services.

The Russian-Ukrainian war had consequences on the world economy, including the economic life of Armenia.

A large number of people from Russia and Ukraine visited Armenia for residence.

The exchange rate of the dollar and euro decreased unprecedentedly. 1 US dollar was 393 drams in RA; the euro exchange rate reached 391.

The minimum wage in RA was raised from 68 thousand to 75 thousand drams.

The number of pensions and allowances was also increased by around 3 thousand drams. In addition, the pensioner introduced a system of up to 10% refund in case of non-cash transactions.

The system of voluntary certification of teachers was introduced, as a result of which their salaries will be increased.

The National Assembly adopted the project of the introduction of the universal income declaration system. It will be introduced in RA in a phased manner.

New gas, electricity, and water tariffs were established, and the Government announced subsidizing gas and water tariffs.

Several subsidy programs were implemented in the regions.
