Academician Ashot Sargsyan, President of the RA National Academy of Sciences, during his working visit to the Russian Federation, met with the newly elected leadership of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Gennady Krasnikov, the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation, vice-presidents, and academician-secretaries of departments.
Issues of further cooperation between RA NAS and RF RA in 2021 were discussed. The roadmap for the implementation of the provisions of the Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement was signed on November 5. It was decided to create a working group, which will select the most important ones from the 54 points of the road map, and work will be done to implement them.
"There is mutual interest for cooperation. Emphasizing the past, emphasizing the history that our academies have had together since the USSR years, and the prerequisites that exist today should find their continuation in the future," said the RA NAS President.
He noted that an agreement was reached to carry out joint works in the direction of the Armenian-Russian contracts, which were operated with the joint funding of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Science Committee of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports.
"To continue the work, an interstate cooperation agreement must be signed between the Russian Science Foundation and the Science Committee of the RA KGSMSN. "The Russian side has expressed interest in implementing joint projects," noted Academician Ashot Sargsyan.
