A few days ago, a meeting between Davit Peradze, General Director of "Georgian Railway" and Alexey Melnikov, General Director of "South Caucasus Railway" was held in Tbilisi, during which the cooperation plans of the companies in 2023 were outlined.
In particular, one of the main issues was the agreement of the tariff policy with the "Georgian Railway" company, within the framework of which tariff rates were set for the transportation of grain cargo, cane sugar, cement, and cement clinker. The rates of container cargo transportation have also changed.
Issues related to the development of international passenger transport were also discussed within the framework of the meeting. The traffic order of the Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan train during the summer of 2023 was concerned, and the parties agreed to restore the daily traffic schedule of the Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan international passenger train. In the 1st quarter of 2023, a consultation will be held between representatives of SCR and "Georgian Railway" companies, with the participation of the customs and border guard bodies of Georgia and Armenia, regarding the organization of businesses and border control procedures on the road.
In 2023, it is also planned to transition to the new software for the sale of travel documents, "Orion-2," with the addition of functional capabilities and taking into account the recommendations of SCR. For passengers, this service will provide many new features that are not available in the current version of the system.
