About 365 mln. Cubic gas, and from RA - 1-1.2 billion kWh of electricity

In response to Radar Armenia's inquiry, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia reported that RA's power system is connected to Iran's power system by two 220 kV interstate lines, the third Iran-Armenia 400 kV power transmission line. The corresponding substation ("Noravan" 400/22020 kV) is under construction.

We tried to understand how the gas-for-electricity program works with Iran. TAKEN informed that RA, represented by "Yerevan TPP" CJSC, receives gas, with which the produced electricity is delivered to Iran. "About 365 mln. is supplied from Iran annually. Cubic gas, and 1-1.2 billion kWh of electricity from RA."

We were also interested in how much the price of gas coming from Iran to Armenia is at the border and how the cost of Iranian gas is calculated in the price of Russian gas or the total gas price. The ministry clarified that gas and electricity exchange is being carried out between Armenia and Iran. Therefore the price of gas has yet to be set.

To remind you, the Armenian-Iranian "gas for electricity" contract has been extended until 2030.
