Srbuhi Galyan discussed with US officials the issues of the return of assets taken out of Armenia through illegal means
Deputy Srbuhi Galyan, the coordinator of the sphere of functions aimed at the confiscation of illegal assets of the RA Prosecutor General, is on a working visit to the USA on December 5-12 to participate in the 20th international conference under the title "Against Corruption" in Washington, organized by the "Transparency International" organization.
On December 5, Srbuhi Galyan met with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation representatives. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Armenia to the USA, Lilit Makunts, also participated in the meeting.
The parties highly appreciated the existing cooperation and discussed continuous and effective cooperation perspectives.
At the meeting, in particular, several issues related to the return of criminally acquired assets, increasing the effectiveness of the joint fight against money laundering, and mutual legal assistance in the framework of criminal proceedings was discussed.
Within the framework of the visit, Srbuhi Galyan also met with the employees of the Department of Justice and discussed issues related to the return of assets taken out of Armenia and increasing the efficiency of interaction.
