It would be alright if the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan did not question the activities of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Nagorno-Karabakh. Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation

In Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian peacekeeping troops use the locations defined by the topographical maps of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff when performing training and combat tasks. According to "Armenpress," the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation responded to the criticism of Baku.

"Baku's criticism regarding the name of the Maghavuz settlement is surprising because previously and many times in the Russian Ministry of Defense bulletins, other non-Azerbaijani place names were used to ensure the escort of motorcades of Azerbaijani citizens through the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. However, it did not lead to demands in the information space. Moreover, when coordinating the route of the movement of the convoys and organizing cooperation with the Russian peacekeepers, the Azerbaijani side also uses those place names," the message says.

It is noted that information about violations of the ceasefire regime published in the bulletins of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is recorded at the observation posts of the peacekeepers, using objective control techniques, which allows observation at any time of the day.

"It would not be bad if the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan did not question the activities of the Russian peacekeeping troops in Nagorno-Karabakh on such minor occasions and in close cooperation with it, including on the spot, continue the work of maintaining peace in the region," the statement states.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan made a statement calling on Moscow to use Azerbaijani place names of Nagorno Karabakh.
