Armenia will receive about 200 million dollars. New credit agreements were signed

In the RA Ministry of Finance yesterday, within the framework of the joint budget support program based on the "Fiscal Stability and Development of Financial Markets" policy, the "Credit Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the French Development Agency" worth 100 million euros (to be provided in two installments) and "The Republic of Armenia and A loan agreement between the Asian Development Bank for 100 million USD.

The documents were signed on behalf of the Republic of Armenia by Armenian Minister of Finance Tigran Khachatryan, Director of the French Development Agency's Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Asia Department, Cyril Belier; and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Armenia, Anne Louyot. Huiping Huang, Deputy Director of the ADB Armenia Office, signed the agreement on behalf of the Asian Development Bank.

The main objectives of budget financing are:

  • Strengthen the efficiency of public finance management and the development of money and capital markets;

  • Develop a strategic framework to transition to a green economy and introduce tools to promote public and private financing to meet climate change mitigation and adaptation goals.
