The President of the Investigative Committee and the Ambassador of Iran discussed issues related to the cooperation of law enforcement agencies

On November 16, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Argishti Kyaramyan, received the delegation led by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, Abbas Badakhshan Zohar. During the meeting, the parties discussed a comprehensive range of issues related to the cooperation of law enforcement agencies of the two countries, as well as matters of mutual interest.

In his speech, Argishti Kyaramyan emphasized the significant realities of the centuries-old Armenian-Iranian friendship and documented the importance of stable relations at the current stage. The Chairman of the IC highly appreciated the long-term practical cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran within the framework of the agreement on legal cooperation in civil and criminal cases. He expressed confidence that the formed traditions and collaboration will continue, including the most promising directions.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia thanked for the meeting. They emphasized the priorities of ensuring influential contacts in the law enforcement system, proper exchange of information, and mutual legal assistance.

The parties also referred to the opportunities to further expand the ties between the RA Investigative Committee and the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Iran. They agreed to take necessary actions within the framework of the process above.

To organize future cooperative programs more effectively, the Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia also discussed the possibilities of applying a format for appointing relevant representatives of the Committee and the Embassy.
