Based on the imperative to counter the Azerbaijani aggression towards Armenia and break the Azerbaijani isolation imposed on Artsakh, as well as the need to ensure the continuous internationalization of the Artsakh conflict and the need to protect Armenian interests by the Armenian Lawsuit system in general, on the initiative of the European office of the ARF Armenian Lawsuit, from October 31 to November 4, 2022, deputies from the European Parliament a fact-finding mission arrives in Armenia.
The delegation includes Peter Van Dalen, a Dutch member of the European Parliament, a member of the EPP political group, co-founder of the CoE friendship group with Artsakh, Fabio Massimo Castaldo, former vice president of the CoE, Italian independent MP, and Lars Patrick Berg, a German deputy, member of the ECR political group. The members of the delegation will be accompanied by Gaspar Karapetyan, the president of the European office of the ARF Armenian Lawsuit, the director of the office Heghine Evinyan, and the person in charge of the special programs of the Central Office of the Armenian Lawsuit, Gevorg Ghukasyan.
During the visit, meetings are planned with His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the delegation of the Republic of Artsakh, the RA legislative and executive authorities, and representatives of the political opposition.
On November 2, the delegation is scheduled to visit Syunik, meet with representatives of local self-government bodies, visit settlements affected by the latest Azerbaijani aggression, and meet with the civilian population. At the end of the visit, the deputies of the CE will hold a press conference.
