12,592 women are fighting cancer in Armenia. Awareness campaign in Yerevan (photos)
October is celebrated worldwide as the month of the fight against breast cancer. In Armenia this month, the Ministry of Health has implemented many measures aimed at the timely diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
The month-long awareness campaigns were concluded today with a march.
During the march, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan gave information leaflets to passers-by and talked with them, emphasizing that cancer is not a sentence, only that it should be detected early, so it is essential to find strength and will and undergo all examinations on time.
The minister also noted that within the framework of the state order, activities are being carried out in Yerevan and the regions. In Lori and Tavush, women aged 50 to 69 have already undergone free mammographic examinations thanks to the mobile mammogram of the Ministry of Health. Mammograph is now in the Syunik region.
Events to fight against breast cancer will not be limited only to October.
In all months of the year, the Ministry of Health will continue implementing many cancer diagnoses and treatment programs.
It should be noted that 12,592 women are fighting cancer in Armenia, and about 1,300 new cases are confirmed annually in our country.
