Kristine Grigoryan highlighted the importance of the French Parliament giving a clear assessment of Azerbaijan's crimes

RA human rights defender Kristinne Grigoryan received the delegation of deputies of the French National Assembly headed by Anne-Laurence Petel.

According to the public relations department of HRD, Grigoryan presented the mandate and guarantees of activity of the Ombudsman institution.

According to the defender, the institution is accredited by the UN as an independent institution and has a high level of public trust.

Grigoryan presented to the French MPs the situation and consequences of the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan on the sovereign territory of Armenia (September 13-15); she gave the interlocutors the special reports of the HRD based on the recorded facts.

She spoke about the cases of returning Armenian prisoners of war, the Armenian-hating policy of Azerbaijan, targeting, torturing, and other inhumane treatment of Armenian female service members by the Azerbaijani armed forces, and widespread Armenophobia in Azerbaijan. "We follow every fact; we present them to competent international organizations and diplomatic representatives," Kristine Grigoryan said. The defender also highlighted the importance of giving a clear political assessment of such crimes by political bodies, such as the French Parliament or the European Parliament.

RA NA deputy Sona Ghazaryan was also present at the meeting and emphasized the importance of Armenian-French cooperation on various platforms in her speech.

The delegation members informed that the French Parliament is preparing a resolution for adoption shortly regarding the issues presented by the Defender.

At the end of the meeting, Grigoryan thanked the French National Assembly delegation members, answered their questions, and forwarded the special reports published by the Defender.
