Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Stock arrived in Armenia on a two-day working visit on October 27 at the invitation of the RA Police Chief. He was received by the RA Police Chief, Police Major General Vahe Ghazaryan.

Vahe Ghazaryan noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Interpol National Central Bureau in Armenia. He emphasized that more active cooperation is being implemented in the fight against such areas of crime, such as cybercrime and financial crimes committed using digital technologies, illegal drug trafficking, organized crime, etc. The head of the RA Police expressed his willingness to continue efforts to fight against all manifestations of criminality.
Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock thanked them for the warm reception and pointed out several areas of essential cooperation. He noted that 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of Interpol, and the key to the organization's effective operation is the work and close collaboration of Interpol's national central bureaus in the member states. Jürgen Stock also spoke about new types of crime. The parties discussed issues related to the fight against them.
Ara Fidanyan, deputy head of the RA police, presented the ongoing reforms in the RA police. They also talked about the activities of the new unit created within the criminal police to combat illegal drug trafficking and the recorded results. At the end of the meeting, RA Police Chief Vahe Ghazaryan awarded Interpol Secretary General Jurgen Shtok with the "For Strengthening Cooperation" medal.
