The Deputy Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure presented the problem of targeting energy infrastructures by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the USA

RA Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Hakob Vardanyan is on a working visit to the USA on October 25-28, the TKEN press service reports.

During the conference entitled "Nuclear energy in the 21st century," organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency, global developments in nuclear energy, the role of atomic energy in the transition to clean energy sources, and other key topics were discussed.

In his speech, Hakob Vardayan presented the current situation in the field of nuclear energy in Armenia and the prospects for development, reaffirming the priority of Armenia's safe use of nuclear power and technologies for the benefit of humanity and global security.

In his speech, the deputy minister specifically noted that as a result of the large-scale aggression of the Azerbaijani armed forces against the Republic of Armenia on September 12-13, 2022, several civil and energy infrastructures, including high-voltage power lines, were targeted, as a result of which the electricity surplus forced Armenia to double unload the power of the nuclear power plant. Moreover, the Azerbaijani armed forces did not allow the Armenian specialists to restore the damage for about 12 hours, intentionally disrupting the entire energy system of our country.

The conference's main topics were the safe use of nuclear energy at the global and national levels and protecting people and the environment from the possible harmful effects of ionizing radiation.
