An avenue of palm trees in the city of Cannes was named after Charles Aznavour

Aznavour Foundation stated that on October 26, an avenue of palm trees was named after Charles Aznavour in the city of Cannes. Charles Aznavour's promenade leads to the monument dedicated to the Armenian Genocide and the Armenian members of the French resistance movement.

Cannes Mayor David Lesnar, RA Ambassador to France Hasmik Tolmajyan, Nikola Aznavour, members of the Union of Armenians of Cannes, and other guests were present at the naming ceremony of the promenade. Charles Aznavour was one of the regular participants in the Cannes Film Festival, both as an actor and a jury member. He had strong ties with this city and even received the title of honorary citizen of Cannes.

"This event takes place at a time when Armenia is once again under attack and its survival is under threat. We should not remain indifferent. The current geopolitical situation should not hide this reality. I want to emphasize our connection and express our respect and support for Armenia. We must support Armenians under pressure and protect their integrity," said Cannes Mayor David Lesnar.
