On October 17-21, the delegation of the United Arab Emirates visited the Republic of Armenia on an official visit at the invitation of the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Armenia, Vahram Dumanyan. led by Dr. Abd Al-Aziz Al-Musallam. The delegation includes Ahmad Al-Dah, Director of International Relations of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, and Saif Al-Hajri, Deputy Director of International Relations.
During the visit, the UAE delegation was received by Minister of CIS Vahram Dumanyan, emphasizing the solid, friendly ties between the two nations. He also expressed his gratitude for hosting Armenia as an honored guest at the "Sharjah Heritage Days" annual festival this year.
Dr. Abd Al-Aziz Al-Musallam, Chairman of Sharjah Heritage Institute, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, emphasizing the willingness to deepen the relationship. He also stresses the implementation of programs aimed at the development of intercultural cooperation.
Within the scope of the visit, the UAE delegation was received by Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, expressing gratitude for the development and charity programs implemented by the Sharjah government in RA. He also emphasized the need to preserve the Armenian cultural heritage in the territories under Azerbaijan's control, requesting the Emirati side's support.
RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan also welcomed the delegation, expressing his satisfaction with the agreements reached within the framework of the visit. Dr. Abd Al-Aziz Al-Musallam, on behalf of the Sharjah government, invited President Khachaturian to participate in the "Sharjah Heritage Days" festival, which is planned to be held in March 2023, noting that RA will be given a separate pavilion to present its cultural heritage.
The UAE delegation also met with RA Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan and discussed issues of bilateral interest.
In addition, a meeting was held with YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, during which opportunities for exchanging experience in the field of education were discussed.
The UAE delegation visited Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide Memorial and Museum-Institute, the Hovhannes Sharambeyan Museum of Folk Arts, the History Museum of Armenia, the Haghartsin Monastery complex, which N.V thoroughly renovated. Under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi.
During the visit, 2 agreements were signed by the Armenian side.
