The RA HRD received the delegation of the Swiss National Council

On October 15, the RA Human Rights Defender received the delegation of the Swiss National Council, which included parliamentarians Stefan Müller-Altermatt, Michel Mater, and Secretary General of the Switzerland-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group Sargis Shahinyan. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Armenia Lucas Rosenkrantz took part in the meeting.

Kristine Grigoryan, welcoming the delegation of Swiss parliamentarians, thanked them for a visit to Armenia and the RA HRD office, then presented the institution's functions, role, and mandate.

In his speech, the Defender referred to the ongoing violations of human rights and the humanitarian situation as a result of the attack of the Azerbaijani armed forces on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia on September 13-15 and presented the war crimes recorded in the Defender's special reports. "There is no security without human rights, and human rights are not guaranteed without security," Grigoryan emphasized.

The defender answered the questions of interest to the members of the delegation, including the priorities related to the protection of human rights in Armenia.

The members of the delegation thanked the Human Rights Defender for his work.
