A census will be held in Armenia on October 13-23. This is the third census conducted in independent Armenia.
It should be noted that after independence, the first census was conducted on October 10-19, 2001, according to the results of which, the permanent population in Armenia was 3 million 213 thousand 11 people, the current population index was 3 million 2 thousand 594 people.
By the way, before that, the government had conducted 2 pilot censuses in 1997 and 2000.
Ten years later, in 2011, the second census was held in Armenia, according to the results of which the permanent population of the republic was 3 million 18 thousand 854 people, and the existing population was 2 million 871 thousand 771.
By the way, the third census in Armenia was supposed to be held in 2021, but the coronavirus pandemic postponed it for a year.
