On October 12 and 13, during the 83rd session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, the discussion of the 7th report of the Republic of Armenia on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) took place.

During the dialogue with the Committee, Armenia reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the implementation of the obligations under the Convention. The discussion of Armenia's report took place remotely.

The RA delegation, which consisted of representatives of various departments, was led by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan and co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Justice Arpine Sargsyan.

The delegation answered many questions raised by the committee, including the steps taken to increase the role of women in political and public life and to ensure women's equality, advancement, and rights in education, employment, healthcare, and economic and social spheres.

During the dialogue, the members of the delegation drew the committee's attention to the humanitarian crisis created as a result of Azerbaijan's aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia, its impact on the most vulnerable groups of society, as well as the serious crimes committed by Azerbaijani servicemen against women.
