The delegation of the Ministry of Education is on an educational visit to Finland

The delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meimaryan is on an educational visit to Finland within the framework of the twinning program "Strengthened conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in Armenia by European standards."

The delegation includes Vladimir Kirakosyan, Chairman of the Forestry Committee of the Ministry of Environment; Arman Avagyan, Deputy Director of the Center for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring; Lilit Galstyan, Acting Director of the State Museum of Nature of Armenia; Lilit Galstyan, the Ministry of Strategic Policy and Specially Protected Areas of Nature. And Lusine Avetisyan and Voskehat Grigoryan, heads of the Biodiversity Policy Department, representatives of the Ministry's professional units.

The purpose of the study visit is to provide participants with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the institutional structure of Finnish nature conservation, biodiversity monitoring, and reporting practices in national, EU, and international contexts, as well as the management of biodiversity data, flows.

The educational visit is based on the activities carried out within the Twinning Project jointly with the Czech Nature Conservation Agency, the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), and the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Armenia.

The delegation led by the deputy minister visited the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), where the Armenian specialists were presented with the structure of specially protected natural areas and the Finnish management experience.
Visits were made to various facilities such as the Forest and Park Service, the Nature Museum LUOMUS, the Finnish Nature Center in Haltia, and a selected nature reserve.

The parties mutually emphasized that there is a good practice of long-term cooperation and exchange of experience between our countries. The deputy minister expressed hope that this visit will be a stimulus for strengthening Armenian-Finnish relations and expanding the agenda of issues of mutual interest in the field of environment and implementing new joint projects.
