The Japanese ambassador expressed his readiness to support overcoming the consequences of the war

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Narek Mkrtchyan, received Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, Masanori Fukushima.

During the meeting, the social support programs and works implemented by the Japanese government after the 2020 war were discussed, as well as the details regarding the response to the social problems caused by the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on September 13, 2022.

"In the post-war period, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs implemented many projects, having the Japanese Embassy as a partner. We have also received your support in various areas of social protection. We are ready to cooperate, study and discuss effective programs, the application of which will enable us to solve the existing problems in the field and record success," said Minister Narek Mkrtchyan.

Ambassador Masanori Fukushima presented the details of his recent visit to Gegharkunik and emphasized that they are ready to help overcome the post-war consequences.

"For Japan, Armenia is a democratic country with a society based on the power of law. We assure you that the Japanese government will continue to implement various programs to improve the needs of people in difficult life situations," the ambassador noted.

During the meeting, the importance of the support provided by Japan to elderly care institutions was also discussed, as well as the possibility of implementing jointly implemented programs in the field of protecting the rights of vulnerable groups, mainly persons with disabilities and children.

The parties referred to another grant program through which the specialized orphanage of Kharberd will be improved. An agreement was reached on transferring the discussed programs to the practical domain in a short time.
