HRD will prepare a report on the torture of Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan

At today's press conference, RA Human Rights Defender Kristine Grigoryan addressed the issue of 16 service members who returned from Azerbaijani captivity.

He said that they held separate meetings with the servicemen, "We will prepare a report to record the conclusions, the actual data that the boys told us. We found facts of torture, ill-treatment, and humiliation. Almost all the returned prisoners were told about torture and ill-treatment. Cases of ill-treatment have also been registered by the law enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan and even by the medical staff in the hospital. A separate report will be prepared on all that."

The Human Rights Council expressed that the facts regarding the barbarities committed by Azerbaijan and numerous human rights violations should be put on the negotiation table. She says, "I don't think we should talk about war and not say that we don't want to make efforts for peace."

HRH also noted that during the meetings with the residents of the border settlements, people emphasized peace first. "We should not fall into another extreme, saying that if we have such a situation, we should arm ourselves and attack. This is the most destructive thought. We must make efforts to achieve peace. We must constantly work in this direction."
